My name is Alex, and I am an all and nothing person. Exercise all the time and eat nothing unhealthy, or eat crap all the time and do nothing healthy. Since the end of last year, I've been firmly of the latter persuasion.
Until then, I had been going hell for leather, getting my beach body for a December trip to Australia. Somewhere, around the equator, I switched into fat bastard mode. Flying back in the other direction didn't unflip the switch. 98kg became 100kg. 100kg became 105kg. And at some point, I broke through 110kg. Funny how that happens when you class chocolate milk as a food group.
Tomorrow I'm driving to FIBO in Cologne, one of Europe's biggest Health and Fitness trade fairs, to coordinate the brands Men's Health and Women's Health. Considering the last few months, this certainly smacks of irony somewhat.
So, something has to change. And there's nothing like four days at the world's leading Fitness exhibition to make you aware of that! When I get back, I'll be getting back in action. I want to make 2015 the last year I try to lose weight.
My goal is to be down to 95kg by 11. August 2015, 18 weeks from now, and with a body fat percentage in the teens. No mean feat, which is why I'm documenting it here. In the coming days I shall post my measurements, and my plan for the first 6 weeks. These will also be accessible under the tab "ABOUT".
Over the following months I'll be posting regular updates as to my results, experiences, lessons learned and any recommendations, should anybody else be intending to start a similar journey.
Now, I'm off to practise sucking in my stomach before I head off to Cologne.
